New Hampshire Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Survey The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is upgrading transit on the New Hampshire Avenue corridor by implementing a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.Bus Rapid Transit is different from typical bus service in that it has the goal of arriving approximately every 15 minutes, and approximately every 7-8 minutes during morning and evening rush hours.Bus Rapid Transit provides: pre-boarding payment priority traffic light signaling dedicated lanes where possible The New Hampshire Avenue Flash BRT planning study is exploring options for providing higher quality, faster, and more reliable transit service along the corridor. Several alternatives have been developed and evaluated.
